Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Selling Fake Coach Purses

Navin Chandra Patel, 38, a citizen of India and resident of Springfield Missouri who was working as the manager of a convenience store, was charged in a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Springfield.

An agent of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seized 14 counterfeit purses and four counterfeit wallets from the store. Patel was arrested, the affidavit says, after the ICE agent determined that he had provided a false identification document to conceal the fact that he was illegally present in the United States.

According to a saint louis immigration attorney, If convicted, Navin Chandra Patel could face up to ten years in prison and/or a $2,000 fine.
